Homemade Burgers

Following my meatball recipe, I decided to whip up some tasty burgers for Sunday afternoon lunch. The biggest thing to remember is the construction. Layering is very important, so I have provided a guide to assist you in building your next burger.

Ingredients

  • 1 patty for each burger (using my meatball recipe – remember to make the patties to fit the bun)
  • 1 bun for each burger (I used small rolls from the New Norcia bakery – yum!)
  • Lettuce (washed and ripped into chunks the size of the burger)
  • Roma Tomato (sliced)
  • Spanish Onion (sliced)
  • Avocado (Sliced)
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Home-made Mayonnaise

Method
Cut your buns in half.
On the bottom half:
- Squeeze tomato sauce on the bun
- Place the beef patty on top of the sauce
- Add the cheese on top of the patty
- Place onion, then tomato slices on the cheese
On the top half:
- Spread mayonnaise on the bun
- Add avocado on the mayonnaise
- Place lettuce neatly on the avocado
You can serve the burgers with the halves separated or together.
Use a toothpick to secure the burger if you choose to serve it constructed.

Burgers are delicious served with Chunky Chips.
